Traditional Overnights: Why I Say Yes to a Sleepover With You
Separate rooms are my preference and if you haven't read that post yet, I'd encourage you to. But if you've read it and you're still here? Then you already know what you want, and I adore a man who knows what he wants.
What Is a Standard Overnight?
This is the full sleepover experience - blanket stealing and all!
It doesn't matter where life has landed you. A boys' trip in a city that doesn't feel like home yet. A solo work trip where the evenings are too quiet. A weekend away where the night went better than expected and neither of you is ready for it to end.
Whatever brought you here, the point is the same: the evening winds down and the world goes quiet, and there is something undeniably lovely about ending it beside someone rather than alone.
Let's Talk About You for a Second
You've had a long day. Maybe a long week. The meetings ran over, the emails kept coming, and the last thing you want is to close your laptop and have nothing to look forward to. You don't want to go back to an empty room. You want company - genuine company…
Someone who will be there when you finish a long day of meetings, and who will still be there in the morning making you laugh over coffee before you have to go out and do it all over again.
And I’d love to be that person for you.
This Arrangement
The shape of our night is entirely yours to define and we let it unfold however feels right. Dinner somewhere nearby, a nightcap, a movie with a glass of wine and nowhere to be. The best nights rarely follow a strict plan anyway - the moments worth remembering almost always happen in the spaces between them.
And then there’s the pillow talk. You know the kind. The conversations that only seem to happen in the dark, lying beside someone with nothing left to perform and nowhere else to be. Quiet, honest, and completely unplanned. I love that part of a night like this more than almost anything else. I have a feeling you will too.
Once we have both woken up slowly, perhaps we step out for a morning stroll and find somewhere nearby for coffee. Or maybe we never quite make it out the door - room service, tangled sheets, and no particular reason to rush.
Either way, we will squeeze every last drop out of the morning before the real world comes calling.
The Accommodations
The dream setup is a spacious suite with a king bed, his and hers bathrooms, and a terrace to spill out onto when the evening calls for fresh air. Room service in the morning is always a welcome touch.
One small but important request: none of those gorgeous glass-walled bathrooms. A little mystery goes a long way.
A Final Thought
A sleepover with me is not just about having someone beside you through the night. It is about ending your day well and beginning the next one even better.
Tangled sheets, easy conversation, nowhere to be for just a little while longer. This is the kind of time together that follows you into the rest of your day and makes everything feel a little lighter..
Time together like this has a way of reminding you that there is more to life than the next meeting on your calendar.
The meetings, the emails, the relentless pace of whatever life looks like for you right now - none of it matters when we are here. It is just the two of us, curled up together, laughing about something that will randomly cross your mind a week later and make you smile for no reason anyone around you can explain.
If this sounds like exactly what you have been looking for, you already know where to find me!
xoxo, Em
Date Structure:
This type of overnight is 10 to 12 hours, beginning around dinner and winding down early the following morning. Within that window, I ask for 7 hours of undisturbed sleep and a little personal time in the morning to wake up slowly and freshen up before we reconnect.
Fair warning - I am much more delightful once I've had a moment to wake up and a matcha latte with almond milk in hand. No surprises before the caffeine please - though a matcha latte or mimosa would be a very welcome one!
